Our programs
Four commitments, kept every year
We do a small number of things consistently rather than many things once. Each program below runs annually in the Nigerian communities we serve.
01
School fees
Both men this foundation is named for believed the same thing: that a child’s schooling is the last thing a family should have to give up. It remains our largest commitment.
- Tuition covered for a full academic term
- Books, materials, and school uniforms
- Priority given to orphans and children of widowed mothers
02
Food support
Hunger is the need families name first and mention last. Our distributions put staple food directly into households carrying more mouths than income.
- Staple foods distributed directly in the community
- Households identified with local leaders, not from a distance
- Repeat support for families in sustained hardship
03
Widow assistance
When a husband dies, a woman can lose her income, her standing, and sometimes her home in the same season. Widows are the first to be overlooked when help arrives, and the first we look for.
- Direct material and financial support
- Help keeping children in school after a loss
- Practical guidance drawn from our founders’ care experience
04
Medical care
A treatable illness becomes a catastrophe when a family cannot afford the treatment. Our medical support is overseen by a practising clinician — co-founder Dr Nkeiru Okonkwo, DNP, RN, PMHNP-BC.
- Help with treatment and hospital costs
- Medication for families who would otherwise go without
- Clinical oversight from a board-certified nurse practitioner
